Bulgarian Bracelet

A 19th century Bulgarian bracelet with a dramatic swooping shape and deep carving. I think that first the design was cast, and then carved on top of the casting to make it sharper and deeper. With engraving, traces of gold gilding, and much of the original silver plating on top of a low silver. This is a very small bracelet, for a young woman. 95 grams.

  • Beautiful cuff with very deep engravings. It is very interesting to know that it has a combination of casting and carving which had resulted quite deep engravings in the set. Its shape is also very interesting. Thanks for posting this peiece. For interesting and beautiful.
