Oh my! I only saw this a minute ago. Yes, I would say it's from Daghestan, and it is very beautiful! I love these very much. Congratulations, Peter.
If you get the time, could you perhaps send a picture of the back?
Hi Peter, I feel strongly that this could also be a bracelet from Azerbaijan. There is a strong similarity in jewelry craftsmanship between Dagestan and Azerbaijian. Please see below (partial) picture of a cuff for comparison. In any case, wow, yet another stunner from you. I hope I will be able to add such a fine piece somewhere in the near future.
Yes, this is looking very similar (and absolutely stunning)... very interesting Howah!
As you say, I guess its hard to tell whether a piece is actually from Dagestan or Azerbaijian. I wish we'd see more of this type of jewellery. Thanks for posting this picture!
It's a terrific cuff, Peter - you do really have many very good pieces. I too am inclined to agree with Howah, in view of what he has shown us. Without his help or doing a lot of homework myself I would not have dared to say more than "Caucasian"!
