Belt Buckle - Azerbaijan?

The vendor of this buckle insisted that is is from Azerbaijan. I would rather locate it to western Bulgaria or Macedonia. Any input is much appreciated. By the way, I just love the intricately carved hook - very rare to see as it is usually hidden.

    I agree that Azerbaijan seems an unlikely place of origin. But perhaps it had travelled there. I recently found an Afghan earring and a Tunisian Khamsa in Georgia, so why not find a Bulgarian belt buckle in Azerbaijan? Kind regards, Betty
