Very nice necklace with lots of fine details... very professionally crafted.. Seems quite old and classic.
Congratulations for the addition.
Thanx Peter and Mustafa ..indeed a classic one with not much stones and decoration
Best,,,Angelo
Beautiful piece Angelo, and so complete. Even the glass decoration looks intact. Gr. Ingrid
Just my cup of tea, Angelo. So restrained...as you pointed out. But so fine. I love the flower decoration on the collar. And the bells must make it quite a noisy piece with a great presence.
I agree with Thelma, Angelo. And it is Pashtun, as you say. But isn't it interesting to see how much this piece has in common with a labbeh from Yemen, as far as the "skirt-like" nether part is concerned, in contrast with the tolp, which is very Pakistani. An excellent piece. Thank you also, while I am writing, for your very kind comments on Truus's book Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment, and for buying a copy!
thanx Joost ….indeed similar to labbeh….noise sounds like water ….which there was not enough water in those places ..and also to scare animals away …mostly snake and scorpions …...
Persian rugs are full of flowers …because they didn't have water .. and flowers…. to decorate their living

and this piece came from well known Naga collectors ….Harry and Tiala Neufeld
