Belt - ?

This belt is very unusual. Made out of high silver in a very accurate way. The blue stones are lapis lazuli. Due to the manufacture technique of the belt, it is stretchable, which is quite incredible. It was definitely a very skilled silver smith manufacturing this piece as the joints, etc. are very accurate and smooth.Does anybody know the provenance of this belt? (I bought it as Persian...). Your input is welcome! Many thanks in advance.

  • I feel it is a kind of a modernist . art deco (?) style made somewhere in Europe but it totally fits persian coloring standards with those lovely lapis lazuli cabs!

  • Beautiful belt! I also feel it is most likely an art deco period piece rather than "ethnic", but it is very attractive all the same. The way the stones are set reminds me of Southern German/Austro-Hungarian folk jewellery. What I really like is the woven part!
