for me they are always coran pagemarker. we have here many times discussions about them, i saw them even as a vintage tuareg multitools holder decoration piece

the other use als coran/books pagemarker is for me new, just since few years . i know it as pagemarker since i was a kid and throw all my travels and contacts.
in between, i saw it in different uses from jewelry,accessory until talismanic item, tools decoration and even animals jewelry ( the kamel transporting the bride )
her the foto i found recently somewhere i completly forgot. i saw semilar ones in tamanrasset market but didnt give importance to take fotos that time.
