Ait - It was described as an " old Algerian" ring. The seller had owned it for awhile and usually is knowledgeble about his items. There is no enamel on the back.
it is unusual for me, ofcourse it could be Algerian. the top is actualy familiar to me, the backside not exactly. it is actualy a verry nice and interesting piece.
it is possible that the coral was added or chnaged.
i ment with the enamel not the backside. if the top had enamel, it is then a kabyl or chawi near to the coast ( el Taref, el kala) also annaba.
if no signe of enamel, then atlas saharian and sahara
There is no enamel on the top.
it is probably then the south
Ciuld it be possible by asessing the welding between the ring and bezel to suspect any later recycling of a loose element into a ring
the bezel in fabulous
Everything seems original and connnected with no sign of repairs or additions. I love the ring and it is comfortable to wear, so age does not really matter, but I was curious. The seller said there were matching earrings but he sold them before I could see them.
The more i look to it the more i like it...a brilliant ring toya...congratulations...too bad you missed the earrings
