  • gorgeous pair. Looks very much in perfect shape. Congratulations and thanks  for posting this  Peter.

  • Beautiful. We rarely see these in good silver.

What about those color touches ? Enamel?

  • Dear Mustafa and Ala'a; Many thanks for your messages. Yes, the orange color is enamel.
    With kind regards. Peter
  • These are real beauties.  I have never seen these before in high grade silver.  The overall shape and engraving remind me of Omani bracelets.  Congratulations!

  • as usual, very special jewelry.sensationel to have them as a pair,  wich is difficult to get

  • A fine pair of Afghani anklets to see. I had not previously noticed that there is some affinity between these and the type of anklets from the Sindh Valley owned by a few of us. Lynn Levenberg on the one hand  and Truus and I on the other (and we are not alone) have examples of those, with much enamelling, but there are also others with hardly any or no enamelling yet much the same shape: Nooristan Gallery some time ago posted an example without enamelling on this site, also from the Sindh Valley. These are distinctly different, which is why I am mentioning "affinity". The resemblance had not quite struck me before, nor the fact that both the Afghani and the Sindh Valley (Pakistani) ones vary in the use of enamel. I am not trying to emphasise the similarities, but find them interesting.

  • I shall post both these and Lynn's as examples of the two types (Afghani and Pakistani) on our Facebook "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment" page. With great pleasure!
