  • Nice! I bought myself a small pair made of silver... but the hook has broken, at the moment I can't wear them. Someone in Mali has sworn these big ones be of real gold (I always doubted that!).
  • Once apon a time they were all gold but I doubt that now. Maybe they are burnished with gold - they don't tarnish. Maybe I should test the metal.
    I was told that they use a part of the car radiator these days. I drove from Abidjan to Segou in Mali once. There was a hole the size of a tennis ball in the radiator but the driver refused to change it until we arrived in Segou where he sold the old radiator before buying a replacement. He said that he could sell it for more in Mali because people wanted the brass!
    The wire on your earring can be repaired very easily iif you find a Jeweller who solders with a laser.
