From memory I think the ceremony is described in Angela Fischer and Carol Beckworth's book Africa Adorned
How nice to see you have jewelry from the other African countries too! I mean not only North African items. You collection has a great variety I like it very much.
Thank you, My jewellery collection is very diverse with items from around the world. I have uploaded a little to ethnic jewels and will upload more as time permits. Time is limited because our Gallery is open every day and jewellery is only half of the business. We also sell a wonderful variety of African art from more than 30 African countries and African and Asian textiles.
My image library on Flickr has more than 6,000 images. There are many jewellery images in the collections. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sidewalk_tribal_galleries/collections/
Enjoy.
wow! I just looked quick on your link (your collecttion on Flickr, am impressed. I will look at these items slowly in detail time by time... Wonderful!
Is this collection of yours on Flick a collection for selling or a collection for showing you items?
This because you write about your gallery and since not being English I wonder does gallery mean the same as in my country: shop.
Sometimes I have not added the price but just let me know and I will update it.
Thank you for your reply. I will look more careful now at your site.
