I inherited this cross after my late grandmother in 1993. I knew then it was over 100 years old but not of its origin or history. It has been passed down the line in my family through the women. I have tried to dig around about this cross but it was only today that I found something that resonated with me. Rose of Sharon cross. I read the description of the cross on www.seiyaku.com and tried to contact them for further information. If anyone here can tell me more about this cross I would be grateful.The clasp and chain were added later on.
