  • Interesting - I recently saw a somewhat similar belt being labelled "from Ethiopia" which struck me as unlikely. But of course one can also find imported Bedouin jewellery in the Horn of Africa...

  • You are right Betty, this is not exactly an Ethiopian details. p.e the pyramied formed decoration the connections of the plates and than the buckle the buckle's decoration.  I do not know of silver belts being worn in any  traditional wear.  If found in Ethiopia it must be an imported piece occasion.

  • This is definitely Saudi from  the Southwestern region. I have another Saudi belt with coins, also silver, but not in such a good condiiton. I will post a picture soon. Thank you for your comments :)
