Yemeni anklet Wadi Da'wan?_1

I am very excited about this find. It's an anklet looking very similar to a piece shown in Marjorie Ransom's latest book on Yemeni Silver (p.183) where it is described as originating in Wadi Da'wan, Yemen. I seem to remember, however that Nada posted a similar piece which had an Eyptian hallmark.

  • Betty, I haven't seen this one before, a lovely friendly anklet.  It has the same decoration as the Yemen bracelet, and you know the system is the same as the Eritrean anklets I once displayed, the same lock and hinges. Except that the Eritrean are very heavy which are given as engagement/wedding dowry.
