I came across this bracelet lately (quite good silver, decoration complete except one missing granule) and I am guessing its from Yemen. As always your comments are highly valued!
If anyone can comment on the origin of this bracelet, it would be greatly appreciated :-)
Betty, I would say Yemeni. There are bracelets with the same lines of beading and starbursts from North Yemen ... but usually with about three rows of starbursts ... and curved rather than straight. They are worn by brides on their forearms apparently. There is a picture of one on page 122 of the book Jewellery from the Orient - the Bir Collection.
Thanks a lot Thelma! I've had a look at the image in the Bir-Collection book, but I found this cuff quite different (for the reasons you pointed out) from the own shown there. It's a rather heavy piece too, almost 140gr.
