Looks a little like black 'henna' which isn't really henna, but made from Hairdye.
Can be dangerous to use it.

Thank you my dear sarh. im adoctor ,your report is so frutiful.people in old time were mixing hena with water and natural materials. now ther is anew ideies such as chimical s mixed with hena .they are so harmful

This style of henna is usually seen in Senegal.
It is interesting to see it within a cultural context within Libya
Do you have other pictures of Libyan henna styles? I would be very interested to see them.
I run a henna based charity in morocco and always am interested to see the designs from different regions.

Sarah, Eid is coming up and Tucson, Arizona has a large refugee population from Somalia and Sudan. There are some great styles there- including a dark brown colored henna from Sudan- I'll try to take some pics for you.
