A digital archive showcasing the extensive collection of jewellery and adornment images shared on the former Ethnic Jewels Ning site over the years. These images have significantly enriched discussions on cultural adornment and its global dispersion.

A 'paralı arkalık' (waistband with coins) for women. From western Anatolia, mid-20th century. Part of traditional festive costumes (i.a. Tahtacı Alevi Türkmen from Kozak Yaylası, near Bergama). The triangle with coins is original, the (fabric) upper part of the garment has been renewed. 133 late-Ottoman (rather small) silver coins, 2 early-Republican 'one kuruş'-coins (1939), one circular silver dangle, plastic beads and 7 late-Ottoman copper coins. Purchased in Beyşehir (near Konya) in 1987. (Inv.n° müç178 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
