An 'ibrişimli fes' (woman's hat with imitation hair) from Hakkâri town. Kurdish, ca. 1925-1950. Felt hat (8.5 cm high), with a wooden ring inside; its top (Ø 18 cm) worked with black & mauve silk, and golden metallic thread. Plaited imitation hair in black silk; ends in the front and at the temples winded with multicoloured silk. Plastic beads decorate the rear. Length: 9 cm (front), 20 cm (temples), 64 cm (back). Purchased in Hakkâri in 1988. (Inv.n° ba$042 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
