Woman's belt in northern Syrian style, ca. 1925-1950. Silvery alloy, 84 cm long, 37 mm wide. With an industrial stamp 'made in France' (on the inside); the style suggests a production for the export to Syria (a French protectorate at the time). Purchased in Istanbul in 1995. (Inv.n° müç196 - Kavak Costume Collection, Antwerpen/Belgium).

  • @ Betty: No, not that I know of.  Unless some pieces made in France were not stamped, and then it is very difficult to tell where exactly they were made.  Kind regards, JM.
