  • Yes, that IS unusual, Howah. I was very glad to hear that you have got your copies of *Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment* and that you think the book lovely.
  • hey Joost, this turkoman amulet is actually one of my most favorite pieces in my modest collection. it's almost like a tribal carpet. the book is great. i take a peek in it every night.
  • Yes, I too like this one very much. Great to hear that you are going through the book in that fashion. I know that quite a few people do. One guy decided that the best way was to turn the page every night, so that he could take in what is on the two pages which you then see. He reported that every day he felt that the next spread of two pages would surely be less fine - but no, the level to his mind was equally good all the way through. Another person - a Dutch architect - has it on a special stand (built by him), also open, and also spends (or has spent) some time (standing!) on looking at the two pages in front of him virtually every day. He found the stand was handiest and safest when it came to handling the tome. He would also look this way at those pages which only have text, which he wished to read in its entirety. Alll this is very satisfying to us, of course!
