Turkish headdress

This excellent Turkish headdress is from Bursa, Turkey. The basic circular component dates back to the 18th (or possibly early 19th) century; the tassels are very likely to be later replacements, even though the coins used are old. The piece is made of high quality silver, with a considerable amount of the original gilding left on it, while both the back and the front have a very deep, thick patina. This is typical of the kind of "quality" object made during that period of the Ottoman empire's reign. They are now hard to find, however.
