Turkish belts with niello?

Two nice and complete silver belts with very nice and fine niello work. I believe these are Turkish/ottoman. The two seam to be from the same region or maker. Any information about the age or rarity is welcome.br

  • Dear Sami; both are very nice. I agree with you and also assume that both belts were made by the same artist. I love the niello works and believe that the one on the left has more unusual sections. The buckles on both are great and to my knowledge for this type of belt rather unusual. The buckle on the right is my favorite - absolutely lovely! This, with an exact and intact niello, makes them special. You definitely made a good buy Sami. I hope to see you next week (I am in Al Khobar, leaving tonight for Dubai - back in Amman on the 19th). Cheers. Peter
  • Dear Sami; By the way, are there any markings on these belts? Peter
  • Dear Peter, Thank you so much for the information and the confirmation. It is much appreciated. I remember seeing markings on the belts but I need to have another look once am back in Amman tonight. I hope your enjoying Al Khobar and much looking forward to meeting you. Br, Sami
