Here is one of those antique photos I mentioned in a previous posting. At first, I kept dismissing photos of women wearing these western-style diadems as something posed by the photographer. I have now seen so many with similar ornaments (even private sittings) that I think these were actually used in 19th century Tunisia. So why are such pieces absent from all the literature????
