  • this is another bracelet that falls in the same group as of the style of but not original or antique.  These are the type of things reproduced in either India or Nepal and sold through out the world by Tibetans.  When they are sold usually they are sold as new in the stores however sometimes they get into the hands of dealers that don't know the difference and or estate sales and since they are made to look old and use silver mostly but it causes  confusion to many. In this case I also can not tell if the amber is real or it is some other material.  The color and crazing make it look like it might not be.  They are nice as wearibles but do not have the same value as antique pieces so one has to watch what they pay for bracelets like this.

  • Thanks for the insight , Linda, this is a lovely bracelet, and is very appealing as an embellishment.

  • Thanks for that, Linda, that`s interesting. I had been aware that there might be some questions as to the origin of this. I actually have no idea what I should have paid for it but, because it pleases me, I am happy with my purchase. It was not described to me as being antique.

The cabochons do take a static charge but I know this is not a definitive test.

  • Frankie, happy New Year to you in good health and keep enjoying jewelry!!

Found these lovely bracelets on Ebay check them out!!

    Item number:250960709074

  • Thanks so much, Marie-Ange. I have been following those bangles - they are so nice! And the seller has reduced the price now but it`s too much for me at the moment. They were previously described as being from Bhutan. Had a rush of blood to the head and have booked for Sarah`s next Marrakech trip now so must keep any spare pennies for that. Can you come too?

But you`ve got me taped - those bangles are just my thing.

Have a great year! Bless you and enjoy that fabulous view of the elephants!

  • Yes I thought you might like these, they look wonderful and also rare to find a pair I guess, lucky winner who gets them.....(not me lol)

Are you going on the Februari trip??  I envy you and all the others that will go, yes better to safe some money as you will find many treasures there!!

For you also a wonderful year in good health.
