  • nice piece

it is from north niger and not from Hoggar. worn as a pair, head jewelry, the Hoggar ones are worn as necklaces pendants. it looks like the front is silver, the back is always a metal sheet

  • Very elegant piece, how is it worn?

  • Hi Ingrid, this is how its worn2506018791?profile=original

  • GREAT thanks for that Ait, I will amend the info. It was actually bought in Ougadougou, so it figures it would have from Niger

  • So was it worn like temporals?

  • as i already wrote you, there is a difference in the way they are worn. the hoggar ones are worn as a pectoral ( pedant ) alone or with the cubic one, also a shell or white agate bead with small beads in a necklace. i sold one recently, i ll try to get you fotos of . i m adding you from the ritberg museum

the niger ones are worn as head ornament, a pair, each from a side

there is differeces in the sizes, shapes and samples. if you look at the fotos i posted, there is 3 i have from hoggar, the complet one is sold with the big agate bead necklace2506018597?profile=original2506018765?profile=original

  • I second ait for the Niger provenance and that it is not a necklace, but i would rather say it is actually a neck ornament for i have always failed to find a pair (at least similar) opposite to the more common temporals constructed as a succession of three triangles one hanging from the other in a row which are commonly found in pairs!!

  • i actualy know the niger ones as temporal and always worn as a pair,i was offered manytimes to buy but i had and still have a big colection of the Hoggar ones. the niger ones in silver is not commun to find and i like this jewelry only in silver.

i still have some other fotos, i have to find first

  • This is great info. Thanks all. This one is silver except for the three lower small triangles.
