  • Magnificent picture, Ait. The jewels are brilliantly displayed. Is this pic taken by you?

  • Patricia.  thank you.  no , the photo was not taken from me.i have less time when i m in sahara,  i  take more snap photos . i got it from a friend

  • Your friend takes brilliant photographs. I think the bracelets look a lot like the one that you had made for me -- the silver looks so elegant against the dark skin and the hennaed nails.

  • yes beautiful photo. yes , the bracelets are the same shape. and the big one in the left was all the time added to adrar oasis and saoura area. i posted this photo to show that the same are made in tamanrasset and they are wedding bracelets. the ones like yours are also less known, some of the rings too.

the silver is high and nicely worked. it makes a s you wrote, a beautiful contrast with the hands color and henna

  • Is the large bracelet on the right wrist a wedding bracelet?

  • Wow!!! this is fantastic!
  • Patricia.yes, they are wedding bracelets, it is actualy a trend now in south algeria to have this bracelets in weddings and the ones with dots. both gilded

it was actualy more Tamanrasset and hoggar tradition and then ain salah, elmeniaa and the saoura. now it is almost until the coast

Akkie,  actualy not, specialy the flat ones, they are worn one on each arm. i think it is beause the large one takes alone a big place and it is special one. the most expensive bracelt in sahara.

    eva.  thank you

  • I had to come back to this picture, it is really outstanding, once the jewellery, but then also the photo as such. A great photo!!!! Beautiful to see the hands with all the jewellery and the beautiful colours! Compliments.

  • I think that you mentioned it takes up to a week to make one of these special wedding bracelets, is that correct?

  • Patricia.  yes it is this one. it take a while to finish one. i was  watching them smithing one and saw how long it take. they do  all with hand. no lost wax or sand casting.
