Congratualtions!!!

This is greaaaaat, definetely one of the dearest pieces of the Siroua mountains, very old style, older than the enameled pieces.

this belongs to a series of mysterious headresses (Fewer than half a dozen that still remain mainly in private collections). When french ethnologists surveyed the region in early 20 th century, no master silversmith could give an indication as to where they come from.

there are traces of previous enamelling, but not intact . S x

A bad photo but I have listed one that a client of mine purchased with me on a buying trip when I was in Morrocco about five years ago. Same type. These are very rare and archaic. I believe some to be quite old.

Evolving story....

This headdress was offered to me in Morocco for 1,000,000 dirhams. I knew it was very special, but as few ever emerge was at a loss to establish the value of the piece. I visted the vendor again recentlyand saw this and 4 other mindblowing pieces .....I discussed the pieces with a friend of mine in Morocco, he told me that his father sourced pieces in the Siroua region for many many years, and it is likely that his father sourced the headdress too..

I believe that with a little time the piece may become more reasonable in price....but as I say It is vert difficult to know a market value for something so rare.

I do have another pic, somewhere shall go and search.....( I am in the process of creating a filing system on this new PC for my 12000 pics!!!) so it may take a while!!
