great buckle from essaouira i guess, since it was first in this city where jewish silversmiths adopted the gregorian(western) calendar replacing the islamic hegira one for their hallmarks
the jewish over there were in close contacts with their european conterparts especially british wich led them to adopt some of their customs.
i shall post an unusual essaouira belt buckle bearing some victorian designs
