Spindlewhorl

It has been reported that these small and very beautiful spindle whorls are from Bactria or from Persia (during the Sassanian period).Many of them have detailed carvings of birds, palm leaves and other designs (suspected to be an early written language). These are thought to have been used for spinning fine silk.
