Sinai/Negev Turtle Bracelet

This is a Palestinian / Egyptian bracelet with the classic turtle motif, worn in Sinai and southern Palestine. This one has the Egyptian hallmark for ".800" and another one I cannot identify. Each dome was originally pierced when the woman gave birth to a baby, and here a jeweler has filled them in with solder and sanded it flat. With very deep engraving. About 115 grams. Betty, this is not the first time you have sprinkled me with good luck by posting a piece I want! More photos in comments.116 grams

  • Wonderful piece!

Happy to hear that "good jewellery karma" sometimes is contagious on this forum :-)

  • Oh, I love luxy shine on this beautifully cleaned bracelet. The patina is still existent, which lifts up the silver even more. Great piece Lynn! With kind regards. Peter

  • Beautiful bracelet. The patina makes it even more beautiful.   A rare collection.

  • What a beautiful find, Lynn. I'm jealous! :) Beautiful patina and that well-loved look.

  • Dear Betty, Peter, Mustafa, and Preethi, thank you so much for your kind comments.  I really love how the turtles are so fat and round on this bracelet, and the deep engraving.  Betty I also love the design on your version of this bracelet.
