a copy? I like it anyway! Apart from the Vaseline beads, it Looks authentic, but I am not the expert. let's wait if someone else knows more...
It is real , was collected in the field in the late 60's. it was from a collection of a friend of mine , i sold it for them.
Ok, thank you for the Feedback. It is really nice! I have seen similar pieces, also new ones, they are quite rare and expensive!
This is a large pendant decoration from Arrussi (Arsi Negelle disrict). It is worn either in the front or the back (breast or shoulderblade height) It is not a pouch but a pendant. The green vasaline beads are unusual to go with this style but is possible. (more worn in Sidamo) the brass rings brings it back to Arsi, so I would say a marriage. The dark pink (light purple) color is also a color I haven't seen in the years 1963-1997. This decoration are to be placed with the same women who wear the red (white heart) head decoration placed earlier by Linda.
thank for the information, I had it as being used as a necklace but in my files to save it from the disk i put pouch and because i could only find information directed by owners at the time I published it , couldn't find much information about it.
