Oh yummie, love them all but the 2 enamelled hair rings right are truly beautiful!
Thanx marie ange, i wanted to gather them on the same picture to highlight the diversity of such discreet ornament often mistaken with regular finger rings
Wonderful to see these together. I really like the square one on the top right with the glass.
super. i like this photo. thank you ayis for posting it
I must confess that I wear these hairrings as finger ring if it fits!!
Ayis, Did you ever pin-point where the cone with the holes was from?
@hillary
I don't have a proof to back my thoughts, but the conical shape and the fact that it was supposed to hold perfume or a rattling stone would make think it comes from around the same area of the pyramid rings, namely middle Draa valley
Hi Folks,
I have seen these strange cones for sale in Amzrou, which as Ayis correctly says is in the furthest end of the Draa Valley. It is the same area where the green Tamgroute Pottery originates.
And Marie Ange I have been offered hairrings a million times by dealers in Morocco described as finger rings. Maybe it is due to mis understanding maybe it is due to the greater salability to a westerner of a finger ring because it translates better.
Sx
These are especially nice when wrapped around cloth as a necklace -- almost my favorite thing to buy.
I am aware these are all hair rings but if they fit they make great finger rings too!! I bet the 2 enamel ball hair rings will fit on a finger.
