Saudi Jewelry, Worn

This is a bit of a dark photo taken at dinner, but I thought I would share. I am always curious about how people who wear their collection actually wear it. These are three Saudi Arabian bracelets in silver with glass turquoise and garnet-colored stones from the eastern side of the country. A turquoise ring in low-carat gold and silver from the Najd. And a low-grade silver ring with granules that I wear to keep the turquoise on one.

  • Link to two of the bracelets... in an interesting twist of fate I now have six.  I am cleaning the rest and will post them soon.  Link to the turquoise ring.

  • Dear Lynn, you will have to make better photo I cannot see anything and now of course, very curious. So I'll wait for a better view. Gr. Ingrid.

  • That's a fabulous combination, Lynn. The small ring you use to hold the big one in place (great idea BTW) mirrors the design of the bracelets with their diamond shaped applications. Beautiful!

  • Here's an example of how I sometimes wear some my bracelets. The Aluminium bracelets I bought over 20 years ago in Côte d'Ivoire (all in the same region) and sometimes I wear them all together:

Another, rather eclectic, combination is these three bracelets from different region (Nubia, South East Asia, Levant). I like the different structures:

  • Thank you Lynn, that is better.  First of all, what beautiful hands you have got, and I find the way you are wearing these stunners is super elegant. You are a life sample how special one can look and I am talking elegant compared to it being warn as hippy jewelry.  I myself were it like you and feel very happy and rich by it. The colored stone make it also very suited for evening were.  New life to beautiful and deserving jewelry. Well done.  Gr. Ingrid.

  • Lynn, about the three bracelets, first of all beautiful.  I think it is a most beautiful combination you have made.  And also looking as very high silver glow. I can only say very elegant.

The narrow one with the single large granulate caught in string file grain, do also exist in Ethiopia.  They always refer to it as Nubian,  as far as I know  Nubia was in the time of the Faraos.  I know that there were the black Faraos who were Nubian.  IN Ethiopia these bracelets are from the northern part and South ERitrean area.  I have one set, they are open and very small always.  So I have it just as part of my collection.

  • Beautiful bracelets. I love the granulations and the combination of turquoise and garnet.

Very nice to have , congratulations .

  • My heart would miss a beat if I was sitting opposite those lovely bracelets.
