Russian enamel kovsh

A Russian silver gilt and shaded cloisonne enamel kovsh, Feodor Ruckert, retailed by Ovchinnikov, Moscow, late 19th century. [I know that this is not strictly a piece of jewellery, but it shows us superb Russian enamel of a kind that, late in the 19th c (and before) was widely admired, and which made a big impact in several countries. - JD]

  • This is a hugely expensive piece - I doubt that many of us here could afford it. But isn't it beautifully made, showing top-class enamelling?
