Hi Kathleen
I have seen beads of this type for sale in large quantities in the Mellah in Marrakech. The mellah has a few tucked away stalls which sell new production beads. Around 8 years ago there were lots of these there. They are from memory translucent red plastic with air bubbles inside occasionally..... As they were in the mellah shops I had assumed that they were of Marakshi origin.
Hi Marie-Ange and Sarah,
I purchased these about 15 years ago - and yes they are 50mm x 30mm. I know I have seen them in one of my books just cannot remember which one...thanks for your input.
