  • Hi Toya I found the type of this style published , so this is good since I had never seen it,. from what I can tell this piece is never same exactly and can be open to pieces being random hanging from it. The one most like yours is from Algeria and is from Souf.. This was in the book Treasures from the Bir Collection , which i would highly recommend to people as their collection is quite broad and have collected some very nice original pieces ...

  • Hi Linda

Your photo of my piece is so much better than the one I took of it. I am so happy you found this type of pendant published! It is very nice to see the photos of similar pendants. I will try to get a copy of the book. Thanks again.

  • thank you for posting.

souf is in the border with tunisia and also not far from lybia. called eloued or oued souf . it was a famous trade stop for caravanes . many north south and east west caravanes routes passes throw.

all this , makes the region a rich trade place of all items, specialy spices, salt,carpets,silver,jewelry... and gold. it is a gold place until now.

many jewel pieces in the region have tunisia, chawi and lybia influence
