  • A small collection of Amber, Coral. Amazonite and silver Berber Necklaces purchased in the 90's

At this time the Coral from Jemen began flooding the Moroccan market. It is easy to spot it.

  • Beautiful combination of stones , corals and beads. Very attractive colourful beads with decorations of filigree. These look very old and weary.. very nice to have thanks for posting these nice and original items.

  • Lovely selection...how fortunate to have found this. Some of my favourite stones.

  • Dear Lulu; Great posting. Thank you. When I was working in Aqaba, the Yemenites came there to purchase coral, as they have unfortunately run out of it. I know only of one dealer in Aqaba, who still has the real old corals from the Red Sea, which his father purchased long time ago and the family has stowed away, waiting for such a moment when the prices for the same go up. Well, the moment has arrived already a while ago. Most of the other dealers have the fake corals, which they are ordering from China and selling them to innocent tourists as real ones for a very high price! With kind regards. Peter

  • Hello Mustafa , Nice to get your comments they are beautiful old beads.

    kind regards Lulu

  • Hello Joy, I do feel fortunate having this collection, they are some of my favourite stones as well.

    Kind regards lulu

  • Dear Peter, Thank you so much for your input! and for this information about Yemenitish

Coral. It is a similar story in Morocco.  Are you still in Yemen and Do you also have a collection.?

    Kind regards, Lulu

  • Dear Lulu; Many thanks for your message. I am living and working for the time being in Jordan but will move soon to Al Khobar/Saudi Arabia. I have visited Yemen but never worked there. Yemen is a fantastic country to visit but for the time being unfortunately not available. Also, most of the jewelry has been moved out of Sana'a to the villages. And yes, I have a collection. You can see some of my items under my portfolio in this network. However, to see the photos, you will have to "befriend" me. I will send you an invitation. With kind regards. Peter
