Caucasus bodice

Textile covered with silver decorations like old Russian coins and pendants. In center are niello work silver fasteners. Oldest coin is from 1839. Rare find.

  • Thanks all for the nice comments. Not to sound cocky, but I doubt there are many more similar or better examples out there. It was a lucky internet find. All those hours I spent on the internet looking for the good stuff has finally really paid off. I actually have some more items in my collection that are above average quality. Will post these over time.

  • @Linda: I actually bought a similar type of belt not too long ago! It's not in yet, but yours looks nicer (ofcourse). Will post it when received, should be later this week. I aim to find a nice matching costume and headdress!
