Hi all, I spotted this on ebay and wondered if it's Moroccan as the seller says. I've seen a couple of others like this online recently as well. Thoughts?
Hi Preethi, This is Moroccan, but it looks new from the added black patina, it also does not look like any traditional style I've ever seen before.
Thanks Hillary. The design is quite similar to a silver necklace I purchased a couple of years ago, which Sarah helped identify as newly-produced in Tiznit.
Perhaps this is one from that area too?
The style is not completely traditional, but does include elements such as the rose of Andalusia .
It makes sense that we are seeing a few of them now, a pattern seems to exist that once a different design/ origin of jewels is prevalent in the souk the previous ones are starting to show up on e bay as vintage or sometimes even antique!
I personally find this one fairly attractive for the type.

Well, it is a pretty bracelet and will probably find buyers. Yes, it'll be interesting to see what this goes for. Starting bid is set for $2, but no bids yet.
I agree with others: Moroccan but recent. We are seeing less and less old jewellery ...
