Omani prayer chain turned into a ladies chain

Antique prayer chain with amber beads purchased 30 years ago in Nizwa Sultanate of Oman (two beads including the elongated one ahve been left out) 6 modern granulated local beads added.

Has anyone seen such a finely cracked surface of the antique amber beads before. Also any idea how old they are?

The pattern is not caused by the background because I also made photographs with a different background.
