very unusual to see hands in ethiopian jewels.
perhaps Alaa, but parts of Ethiopia are Muslim - that means, Little Hands do not seem to be that strange. (But you are right, I have not seen them before either........)
Really lovely, Eva! Another nice find. I had a pair of those that were used as earrings when I bought them Welo but I gave one away and use the other as a pendant now. Not 100% sure, but I think they are not so typical of Harar, but are rather worn by the - part Christian/part Muslim - Oromo people. The hamsas sre indeed not extremely common, but given the numerous contacts with Yemen, Egypt and other places that use the protective hand, they are not that unusual either.
