  • Hi, Steven Scott has identified this as a Phelonion (Orthadox Christian Priest's Robe) from the Horn of Africa.-- He is posting his mother's legacy -- His looks enough like yours to be the same identical robe.
  • Hi Patti, I know Steven.  I was helping him with identification and I had been researching this for him. After initial ideas that it was ecclesiastical, I did further research into orthodox robes.  Ayis also confirmed that he had the same ideas.  This particular style of garment is called a phelonion and is part of the traditional ensemble of priestly robes and ornamentation worn by many sects of the orthodox clergy.
