Mystery in the Bead Room

I found these in a bag with a note from my Mom that said :" Check the metal on these I don't know why they are so heavy." I have not checked the metal yet, but what I'd really like to know is where they are from. Their luster made me think " New Nepal", but when I took them out of the bag and gave them a good look I didn't know what to think. They are gorgeous and they seem to have nice wear to them. They are heavy at almost 4 grams each @ 9.5 mm. The photos have been magnified, they are not nearly impressive from a distance. Someone I respect on another forum said maybe Oman? Thanks for any info.
