  • i belive they r yemen

  • Wow!  It looks like one was converted to a dangle with two loops.  I have never seen ones quite like this, my guess like Son would be Yemen.  Second guess would be Pakistan or Afghanistan.

  • Beautiful pair! These could be 'Bali' - typical crescent-shaped earrings from northern India. This pair seems to be from Himachal Pradesh. I'll try to find a reference photo.

The design shows Persian and Turkish influence, from the many invasions of the subcontinent.

  • Thank you everyone for your comments!

Yes, they look Yemeni at first side, but the way the dangles are done, made me think India.

Indian "Bali" earrings was also the closest I could find, Preethi, but I was not sure. Thanks a lot! I will look for Himachal Pradesh pieces, but will of course be grateful for any further reference or info! The second earring has unfortunately lost its loop. It was hammered flat and turned into a bail. But I guess this may be fixed...Will post some better pics these days...

  • I think they are Indian Betty.

  • I put tops on mine but are same , often worn by Gaddi group.

  • Here are images of various types of bali from Himachal Pradesh. Source: Waltraud Ganguly's Earrings: Ornamental Identity and Beauty in India.

How much does your pair weigh?

  •  i don't know , i don't weigh my things usually . These are heavy. The style of these are like mine but different than those from Himachel , mine were collected in that area in the field as well i have seen Gaddi in photos wearing them. There is also another style of earrings that are from the same place , see photo, these also are from that region. 2506011882?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024
