  • Ahhh I had one of these, I came to the conclusion that they were Yemeni upon advice from a forum.....

  • Thank you

i was hesitating between yemen and india...

  • I think it was the conical beads which sealed the opinion, but I was thinking of the same geographical zones as you were..

I am trying to remember who advised me...it was many years ago!!

  • The endpieces look like large Yemeni Mashagar which are big temple pieces, the beads and certainly the cones look like Yemen, but the chain is very unusual. I have never seen a chain like that.
  • Do you have a close-up of the chain.  From this vantage point, it is *very* Qing Dynasty Chinese-looking.  Is it possible that this piece has been altered?  Long chains such as this one were used at apron chains with button or hook fasteners at the bottom.  Other cultures have used this style as well though.... Is it silver?  The split in the bells at the bottom of the left dome look very much like Indian bells.  I usually find Yemeni bells to be closed.
