  • Very nice headband!

  • Thanks, Harald! Yes, it is a nice good old one, and I fell in love with it instantly when we saw it in Morocco just before the First Gulf War - so, quite some time ago! It was still much easier to buy good old pieces then ... We could buy it, after some negotiation, for a price that was very reasonable (not a real bargain price, though), and I pressed Truus about the purchase, as we had already spent a lot of money buying during that trip, and this understandably worried her. However, I take the view that when you see a truly good piece which you might not see again, and the price is right, you should go ahead, even if the situation is inconvenient (that is what it was - no worse!). And, in retrospect, Truus is very happy that we did proceed, for it looks quite a bit better in real life than it can do on any photograph: this one was taken by our son, who is a professional and very capable, but he had to take it many times before something satisfactory emerged. Admittedly, this was some years ago, and as he is very much across the latest technology he might, I suppose, have less trouble now ... The silk is as nice a component of this as anything else. The dealer had several good pieces, but this stood out, for us, as it was so very homogeneous, and made such effective use of the coins.
