Beautiful beads, so many thalers and little branch tips of coral. Great character. Congratulations, Preethi.
Just came across this fabulous necklace again, Preethi, and thought that the hirz reminds me of bracelets worn by the Rashaida and other groups in Eritrea and Ethiopia. There is actually a clan of the Tigre speaking people in Eritrea who are also called Mariah (spellings vary...). In Ethiopia ,in the very old days, you would also find amulets with similar long tubes instead of bails. Just wanted to share my thoughts....
