Two pairs of marriage crowns from Asia Minor (west Anatolia). 'Rum' (Anatolian Greek), 19th c. Brought to Greece by refugees from Anatolia.Top: in the form of diadems with central medallions depicting the Virgin and the Archangel Michael. Diam. 17 cm. Bottom: with delicate wire flowers & leaves symbolizing fertility and imitating real floral wreaths. A small dedicatory plaque bearing the name of the donor is suspended from the chain linking them.
