Really beautiful! What is the signifigance of this kind of pendant. Where does it come from?
Sorry to be ignorant; this is such a wonderful venue to learn more!
Hi Nancy, t
he portal pendant is generally from the Todhra region of Morocco.
It is in some ways related to the Khamsa pendant, and as such is a protective talisman, and is also said to represent a portal of life and therefore fertility.
This necklace is made from varied elements, some nice coral, Pendants from different regions, and strangely two small club shaped pendant of Saharwi origin. The clasp is modern and Indian.
warm wishes
Sarah
