  • Sarah, how do you identify them as Moroccan, rather than Algerian -- also are they embellished with enamel on the back?
  • I think the styling is off for an Algerian piece. Others may disagree.  It did have enamel on the back, and the centre was articulated... It also lacked 'weight'
  • Usually the center piece has a hole and a pin, since these are worn either as a headdress embellishment or as a fibula > I don't see that --although you do say that it is articulated. Also, just from the couple that I own, there is a lot more enamel work on this than there is on the older Algerian models -- both are lovely, however, and have interesting symbolism. Again, the enamel seems relatively new here, so I am assuming it, too, is new production , very nice piece though.
