  • Wow, what a stunner! Congratulations, Alaa!

  • Impressive,. the niello looks in good condition. I love the lowest most pendants, ususual, I  think.

  • Yes, one can see that the fibulas are necessary to get the effect. And the top chain ... does that go round the neck as Linda describes with her piece? Beautiful niello work. About how old is it?

  • Actually no niello here only a niello imitation which does fit better with the matal alloy

Yes the top chain goes around the neck with additional woolen strings if it is short!

  • Alaa, what kind of fibulas would go on this kind of pectoral?

  • Original ait seghrouchen fibulas are all museum pieces and extremely scarce, i should make a scan to give an example.

All examples i know of including a broken one i missed some 6 years ago bear hallmarks from the 19th century

But since very early in the 20 th century women would have worn fibulas common in eastern high atlas such as those from their neighbours the "ait hadiddu", or styles from further from the north  common among other related berber groups all  cast silver.

Sometimes triangle fibulas from eastern morocco around the algerian border would be used
